Photography Courses North Yorkshire

National Trust property Fountains Abbey with Studley Royal Water Garden is a stunning location for our  photography courses in North Yorkshire. The range and variety of subjects available is second to none. This venue provides us with the stark ruins of the once bustling Fountains Abbey, set in a deep wooded valley with lawns and meadows, typical of this stunning area of Yorkshire.
The Abbey is a stunning piece of architecture with an atmosphere all of its own which when captivated in all its glory can make a stunning photograph. Set in the naturally beautiful Skell valley; the abbey ruins are the largest monastic ruins in the country

Not only do we have rolling landscapes, beautiful gardens and architecture but also the deer park at Studley Royal which is home to 500 wild deer; Red, Fallow and Sika deer are an exciting sight and no more so than during the Autumn rut.
The Deer Park at Studley Royal dates from medieval times and once surrounded Studley Royal House which burnt down just after the Second World War.
The entrance to the Deer Park takes you through an ornate stone gatehouse. Stone icehouses from the hey-day of Studley Royal House can still be seen in the Deer Park and avenues of ancient oak trees line the entrance and exit route. Situated within the Deer Park are St Mary’s Church and Chorister’s House.
Be it landscapes, water and movement, architecture, wildlife and lifestyle & portrait photography, Fountains Abbey can cater for every opportunity.
